Romanians are welcoming, trust-wordy, hardworking, dedicated to their travelling guests. They are also communicative, intuitive , warmfull and helpful to strangers for no reasons.


Most of Romanians under 40 s are English speakers or can understand partially English language. As well some other Romanians speak Italian, Spanish French of Hungarian.


Romanians love guests and tourists they are charismatic hosts and they always desire to show off: with their hospitality, house holdings, cars, drinking abilities, pets and animals, self-image, fashion, beauty, stamina, peculiar habits or even physical power.


Romanians come in two varieties: the smiling variety, socially open, helpful, and mentally agile and the conservative-critical, dull, non-smiling, non-talkative variety. Don`t take them too serious!
As well being an Orthodox country we keep our values unbroken and silently we do not tolerate in public strange immoral and unnatural habits! Romanians are generally well-behaved in public.
We have no practical notion about racism. Romanians are highly tolerant, although our inside society is highly discriminative on social rank or different social groups, but surely not based on skin colour. For sure if you have a strange look they will stay away from you!
Romania is one of the safest country in Europe, streets are safe and you are not in danger unless you are in a special unsafe context.


Romanians love clean dishes, clean clothes, clean beds, and clean rooms. They also have an obsession on watching TV in the evening so You might find a TV in every hotel room.

Ocupation and jobs here
The most common occupations are construction workers, farmers, shepherds, factory workers and engineers. As well Romanians are clerks in public institutions , doctors, teachers, policemen or military guys.
The best I.T. specialists of Europe are located in Romania. About 4 million Romanians are working outside Romanian borders.


Romanians are conservative but they are receptive to win- win, partnerships. Romanian find hard to comply with standards, restrictive contracts and strict procedures, being more comfortable with a free choice intuitive service. This might be a handy info doing business in Romania…

Having fun as a Romanian
Romanians love to party and spend time with their families. This is the country your neighbours are so tolerantt and might ignore You for organizing a loud party in the same building.
Our national free-time occupational activity is enjoying a good barbeque!! Meanwhile Romanians prefer to drink beer and palinka listen to traditional music.
Some Romanians enjoy hiking and spending time in nature. Some of them like fishing on the rivers!

A large majority of them are listening or the newly defined music gender called Manele, comming as a cultural influence from the Roma minority.


It is hard to say what is the predominant outside cultural influence. Over all there is an Eastern European cultural touch. South of Romania has a more predominant Balkan Influence. Transylvania has a little bit of the German-Hungarian lifestyle touch.

Driving in Romania
Romanian drivers are simply crazy drivers and not afraid of taking risks, often driving with speed with a dangerous stile. So Driving for long distances in Romania can be a total adventure..
Please take notice that tolerance for alcohol while driving in Romania is zero , and the Romanian police will make sure that it is happening. This is also available for drugs of any type…

How Romanians dress today
Some Romanians dress modern and good looking but some just do not care, unless is a special event. hOW you dress here determines Your social rank and cultural backround. Black, brown dark blue or grey are common fashion accepted colours.


The old guys and women sometimes they dress as they are from a different time scale reminding of our past and our unique Eastern European location. As well very few Romanians keep traditional clothing’s or symbols as their daily outfit.


Young women dress provocatively – modern, wearing bright-red lipstick and painted hair, it is just a cultural Eastern-European-Balkan thing so don t take them to be easy going. I know Romanian women are beautiful but they are also intuitive, they are high demanding, dedicated to their life partners, with strong personalities.


Young men dress as well modern in quite a variety of outfits, but for now is too early to declare a fashion style. For sure, nowadays, they started to wear bears and groom them for a modern-tough- furry appearance.

Or maybe you should meet the guys from the 60-70 s. They are the Real tough guys!!

What s cooking here..?


I think our national dish dish is polenta, ,,mă- mă- liga,, served often with local cheese.
You are in the heaven of Cheese – ,,brânza,, . Romanians eat a lot of cheese.
Our cheese offer is quite divers and every traditional house makes cheese in a different way.
Our slănina taste amazing, as well our tomatoes (summer only), we serve these fresh with cheese and vegetables..
Every Romanian lunch or dinner comes with a soup. There is an entire variety of them!


Welcome in the country of meat, where pork-meat dishes represent a sign of culinary richness and prosperity. Transylvania can be also considered potato land.

The south of the Country is more vegetarian and the north rely more on meat and dairy products.

  So, being a vegetarian Romania can be problematic and needs attention. Cushier food is also available in some restaurants.

 Romania has a wine culture as well and represents an entire Universe to Explore especially Fetească Regală – a  local wine variety that becomes more and more known and popular.

 Personally, from time to time, I like to enjoy sweet things and deserts. I am always on a search for the best deserts in town.
